it also stops someone if their account gets hacked or something from being able to just go and axe posts left and right, atleast now it makes the hacker work to remove all the posts

Well I was the one that deleted a whole thread once (if you havn't figured it out) and took a beating thereafter for a while because of it. Soon after you couldn't delete your own threads or posts. I assumed I was the cause of it being brought to your attention. I would kinda like to be able to close my own threads at least. Got spoiled at amdmb on that one I guess.
