I play BF fairly often, but I tend to shy away from standard BF, just too arcadey for me.

Mods ( ranked by me )

Eve of Destruction ( http://eod.bfcentral.com) : Vietnam conflict mod for BF. 8 new maps, some of which are very well done. Good mix of realism and balance.

XWWII ( http://s9rm.nucleardays.com/ ) : basically takes BF, and inserts realistic weapons and vehicles and 1 new map. This mod is all about realism, so sometimes game balance is imperfect. XWWII also has a squad league, which is supposed to promote teamplay, however I have yet to see an organized game since squads started earlier this year.

Desert Combat ( http://www.desertcombat.com ) : Most popular BF mod, but this gets ranked last by me just because the game can get incredibly frustrating (Ever play Kursk with more then 20 people??).

What I look for in BF games are two things: teamplay and realism. Good teamplay is difficult on fast-paced mods like DC, although not impossible with a voice com server.

Clanning never really appealed to me mostly because most members are young and immature. I've never seen a clan that wasn't this way. Besides, who else can devote 15 hours a week to clan practices.

I've thought about subscribing to WolfServers, except for the simple fact that I get terrible ping to all their servers ( 150ms+ ).

It would be nice if we could get enough ProCoolers to play casually every now and then on Joe's server, maybe with Ventrilo or Teamspeak.
