Isn't socket 754 Athlon64? I thought that Opteron used socket 940. I assume that the chips will be held in the same way. Stupid AMD.

Not really because it comes with the adaptor for Athlon64 and P4. The other blocks (Dden and DTek) come with one or the other AFAIK and are more expensive because you have to buy the adaptor. I swap between AMD/Intel enough that getting both is what I'm looking for. This slitedge is looking pretty good, but I want to know if I will have to buy another adapter when Athlon64 or Opteron boards w/AGP come out.
