well im not doing anything major in my pc, its just i want something thats good or better than most because if its going to make a difference, then i may as well make it a good difference to having a bad one..
normally spending more on a psu will give you a chance of having a good one.. theres why theres cd/dvd players out there costing £50 rather than the £1000/£500 i have spent on mine.. id rather have something doing something a little better than 'just doing its job'.. all personnal choices i guess really isnt it?
and of course, i guess it could also be bragging rights as well.. if that makes any difference..

it's fairly true, you get what you pay for, that's why all my hardware (except psu) is all top-notch. however, i also haven't had psu's die on me, except that one time i about electrocuted myself on out-of-phase power.

i honestly am not real sure when it comes to psu's if it's bragging rights or real use. but, i've gotten by with my el-cheapos for a long time. my new machine will probably have a really nice psu.. so we'll see how that goes (500+ watts).

in the end, do what makes yourself feel comfortable. i just feel for the most part, for most of my machines and servers, if the device is out of warranty, which one is cheaper to replace? with these i don't even worry about it, and i've been pretty lucky (knock on wood).

i wouldn't buy anything less than a L&C though. that's pretty much all what i use, for the most part.
