well, i was thinking more to the overclock than the ide for some reason. i uninstalled the raid device and rebooted, it's been playing now for a few minutes without a hiccup. maybe it's actually fixed now, i'll go for a while and see what happens. i guess next step is completely removing the drivers and reinstalling them if that doesn't work.

i'm using the abit drivers that came with the board, and i haven't flashed it or anything, so we'll see what happens.
