I wonder how the benchmarks will look when it's tested against the processors and mainboards that will be available when the G5 hits the market. Apple doesn't even have pictures of a physical prototype available, which makes me wonder how long until they hit the stores.
I don't know much about CPU architecture and benchmarking, but it seems to me the only fair comparision between any two machines would be based on typical application operations.
I'm all about holistic benchmarking.
Anyway, I'm a fan of Apple (though I enjoy making fun of them). I think they've bested the PC market in regards to operating system stability, case architecture and silent cooling, and video editing with the G4s.
I would still never buy one.
