Thanks very much Jaydee... it did seem to be a bit hot at first... but is settling down to only about 1 or 2 C higher than before... so, if it's adding 3 or 4 the increase in flow is helping.

I am considering something much better than this little, flow killing transmission cooler. Maybe I'll add a second one and split the flow so that the drop in flow through the blocks is in parallel instead of series as it is now.

I ran the pump in the sink and it FLEW ... hooked it up to the system and the flow is at least HALVED! So it appears my blocks are big flow killers.

But, at this point the added heat is NOT making it worse... just keeping it the same.

Good news is that if I split the flow between both blocks and either get another Trans cooler, stack them and merge the flow after or get a high flow rad and merge the flow into that, then it SHOULD work WAY better.
