The tubes are 1/2", same as the rest of the system.
The fittings on the radiator are 1".

I was thinking something like this:

By laying it down on the side the resistance should be a bit
less, right?

Oh, and i'm using an Eheim 1250...

Edit:
And there's about 9-10m of tubing in the radiator.
