Hehe .

No DDS is much different than DLT. DDS is pretty fragile for a backup media, and is very error prone. Its also fairly small capacity wise (DDS4 is getting better with 20/40GB capacities).


DLT is a larger 1/2" tape format that is much more reliable and stable than DDS. Its also many times more expensive. The tapes alone retail cost 60 - 70$ per tape for a 35/70GB tape. (which is why I am looking for some cheap ones). I have a DLT7000 drive here which is nice to "TRY" and backup all my stuff... But it just isnt possible without thousands of bucks worth of media.
