Using those would strictly be for the looks, nothing else, so it's really up to you. The pressures involved in a water cooling loop are pretty low, to where you just barely need hose clamps, just for safety (accidental tugging).

It's a nice looking touch though. I considered them myself, but the price is putting me off.

You don't have to worry about the hoses being damaged: these fittings are extremely popular all over Europe, and work extremely well.
