First, it would extremely helpful if you would lap the peltier. IMHO they all have horribly uneven surfaces which will [edit] increase even further the inefficiency of the pelt.

I have not used a torque screwdriver simply because I did not have one. I belive pelts call for 200 pounds per sq inch.

What I did was to tie the screws slowly and evenly, making sure I always shifted to next screw diagonally opposed. It's working like a charm achieving between 20 to 25 C below below ambient temperature (what ever unscientifically may be).
