Well our LANparty (me and my brother throw em) have all gentoo servers. And it takes anywhere from 8 hours to 4 hours depending on cpu and internet connection. We install from stage1, and when we are finished most kernels are under 1.2 mb. Very slim and fast system once completed. Highly recomended over here.
