That's an interesting concept, Groth!

I would think that in order to minimize the secondary losses, one would want to keep the heater as close as possible to the top of the die. You may have just gotten rid of that issue, to some extend.

So does anyone know what the space shuttle uses for thermal insulation, and if there's anything similar we can use?
