Upgrade nightmare!!! Help please!!
right, now im frustrated!!
ive just sold my pc that was 'going to get me through' not having a good pc till i upgraded around christmas time to a mate that badly needed a machine (i cant not help my friends, im just to kind hearted for my own good apparently )...
anyway, i have sorted out for two setups, they are as follows...
ThermalTake Xaser III Silver Aluminum Case (V2000+) c/w 7x case fans +USB/Firewire + LCD temp diplay NO PSU
ThermalTake Xaser III Blue Case (V1000C) c/w 7x case fans +USB/Firewire + LCD temp diplay NO PSU - whats the difference between these two cases? apart from steel and aluiminim.. would one cool better than the other?
Antec 550W True Power PSU
Abit NF7S nForce2 Socket A 8xAGP +RAID +Firewire +Serial ATA +USB2 +6 ch. audio (up to DDR400)
Geil® Golden Dragon 1.0GB PC3200 Dual Channel DDR Kit (2x512MB) 400MHz (5.0ns Cas 2 6-3-3 1T) low latency - For my girl friend (id get my corsair memory back)
AMD Athlon XP 2500 (333MHz) Barton core
Intel Setup
ThermalTake Xaser III Silver Aluminum Case (V2000+) c/w 7x case fans +USB/Firewire + LCD temp diplay NO PSU
ThermalTake Xaser III Blue Case (V1000C) c/w 7x case fans +USB/Firewire + LCD temp diplay NO PSU - whats the difference between these two cases? apart from steel and aluiminim.. would one cool better than the other?

Abit IS7G Pentium® 4 Intel® 865PE 800FSB 8xAGP +Serial ATA +RAID +Firewire +Giga LAN +USB2 +6 ch. Audio DDR400 ATX - cant find the is7.. many differences?
Geil® Ultra 1.0GB PC4200 Dual Channel DDR Kit (2x512MB) 533MHz (3.5ns Cas 3 8-4-4 ) low latency Copper heat spreader
Intel® Pentium® 4 2.4GHz (800MHz )512K cache Retail inc.Fan (3 yr warr.)
Intel® Pentium® 4 2.6GHz (800MHz) 512K cache Retail inc.Fan (3 yr warr.) - i feel this is best value and can be overclocked the best for the money
Intel® Pentium® 4 2.8GHz (800MHz) 512K cache Retail inc.Fan (3 yr warr.)
now i realise one is more expensive than the other but i dont care.. im looking for lastability and wanting to keep it for a while not just for christmas!! id prefer to get the most from the cpus as i could ie overclocking, so which one would be better for the overall speed, stabilty and lastability? i have heard the p4 800fsb models to be great overclockers.. please help!
a graphics card will need to be bought as having a geforce 2 ultra or GTS in this system is going to bug me, so im looking at the 9800 pro 128mb's or the next gen card that would hopefully be many times faster
money aint such a problem, as i would buy it all at once.. please help me out here guys, i really need som advice!
thanks for the help!
look forward to the replies!
ps. remember im using a duron @ 733 mhz at the moment! Sorry for the long post!
