I find it would be pretty difficult to measure a .5C raise in temp with equipment even .25C inaccuracy curve. So why again is this measurement important and usefull and worth the money to fork out?

Do you want a narrow line for a performance curve(relating to specific data points) or a highway (describing a vast swath of possibilities along the way)?
