i´m no electonic expert.. but if the wiers are hot, there is energy being converted into heat in the wiers, not the peltier, witch is bad.

i don´t think it has anny noticable effect on cooling, but i just dont like to waste enery on heating wiers.. so use larger cabels if you´rs are hot.
