VNC is what you are looking for. Install the server on the machine without the monitor and the client ... everywhere you want to remote-control it from. VNC is a freeware remote-control software that is decently cross-platform (you could control a mac from a PocketPC with it if you wanted to, or many many other combinations). Only downside to it that I'm aware of it's its not very optimized for low-bandwidth. You'll have a very laggy desktop over the internet but it works fine on LAN's. Afraid the only URL I could give ya for it though is google.
