I am jumping into this forum rather late, but at this time, if you want to experiment with OC'ing and SMP together, go with the AMDs. The Xeons have not proven themselves to be very OC'able. True, they are really stable, but you could also say that about any processor running at clock speed, including the AMD Athlons. My experience OC'ing the Xeons has been miserable. Before I get flamed, I own a Xeon DP system. It's the one I'm using to type this. I use it mainly for surfing, gaming(very few games out there support SMP), and the occasional bit of audio editing. The only thing it outperforms a convential single CPU platform with is the audio editing, because I bought a program with SMP support. In short, I say that Xeons are really only for those running SMP capable apps. The majority of my CPU cycles are used for folding.
