I tried a pyramid with 3 potted 80watt TECs and it didn't work as good as just 2 80watts TECs next to each other. This was also using -10C subzero water cooling on the hot side. This was with a Celeron 300a quite some time ago, so even one 80w TEC was plenty.

The way I had it set up was 2 TECs side by side with a copper plate inbetween them and the underlying single TEC and another copper plate under it (on top of the CPU).

I don't know if the AMOUNT of heat made the pyramid worse or if the DISTANCE the heat had to travel through the pyramid was the problem.
