Hmmm, being in Australia, where it is often over 40C in the shade and over 70C in the direct sunlight, opening one's windows in Summer is to let the heat in is generally accepted as a "bad thing to do". Unless people in Winter regularly crank up their heating to 40C inside the house, then maybe you have a point. If one lives in a quasi-arctic environment where Summer-time consists of 20-25C days, then yes, please disregard my disregard my reasoning, but I contend that such is not true for "most people" of the world.
