don't worry your self, it's error correcting ram,for it to do it's job you must use all ecc ram in your system.it will work with regular ram but just wont error correct.a way to tell if ram is ecc is to count the chips on it, even number= non ecc odd number = ecc. the extra chip does the error correcting.
