I have the same motherboard you have. I put on the center area of the socket silicone and over the silicone a fine layer of neoprene. The sensor is under all of this and obviously is not reading the right temperature of the CPU.
Intead of this sensor I put a thermocouple under core. In order to do this I had to use my dremel to make enough room on the socket to put it under the CPU.

Thanks for your reply. I don't have a dremel so I can't mod the socket like you. Besides, I don't have the skill to do this.
