I think you also need to consider the length of the MD15. My pump is a MD15, and without any fittings it's about 8" long.

But that makes no allowance for the fittings you will have to have. And 2" is not much room to add a outlet fitting + hose, unless you set the pump on a diagonal, which you can do I think. But even with the pump mounted on a diagonal you may still have a pretty tight fit.

I'd still recommend the MD15 to you, just thought I'd point that out to you though before you order the pump.
