I'm not sure what nVidia's policy is, but I have successfully RMA'd defective hardware to ATi that had been altered with aftermarket cooling. I told them this was the case, and they said to simply slap on the original sink before returning it to them. I guess they figure that the aftermarket stuff will perform as well if not better than their own stock solution.

it was a manufactureres defect, far too much thermal compound and glue for the sheild, looked like it had been done twice. but then again, how could i send something back that i have allready had watercooling mounted on? they allways know when someone has removed the stock coolers
