I have no data as to whether or not it cools beter than the old HSF, but I'm leaning towards that it does. It isn't copper, but it is so much larger and has so much more air flowing through it (and the air can actually blow past the heatsink directly above the processor, unlike on the old heatsink) that my mind wills it to be more powerful.

I like the idea of a dedicated duct fan, but I plan to convert to liquid cooling in the next few months, and I would feel bad to have an extra unneeded hole in my case at that time :P
