Bruce, yes the pump consumes 31W. The pump will burn you if you run it for 3+ hours or so, but I think it is due to the metal casing. There is also a 10W value on the pump maybe this is the wattage dumped? All I know, is that now, the pump stays very cool due to the fact that it has the HC fan blowing over it, see below.
