My minitower casemod
Ok so I had my system in an Aopen HX08, and its just too big to lug around to LAN's, not that i get out much anymore
So in came the Auriga 2001 minitower case. Once built, I found a slight problem, in that the power supply was scraping at the top of the slot converter. Now far be it for me to look for a smaller slot converter, no I shall just mod the case So: Out comes the power supply and I added some motherboard standoffs to the intake side (Aopen 300W power supply): Quick shots of the front and back before mounting: Shots of the front base of the case where the power supply is mounted. The intake of the power supply is up against what would normally be the fan intake of the case: Now I had to cover up the backplane of the case. I still wanted to have the exhaust fan in place there to keep the heat out, and still have the power plug there too, so out came the dremel and an old dead power supply, which i used to cut off the back plate. Add a working fan and some soldering for the 240V lead down to the newly placed power supply, and its ready to go in! Here it is in the back of the case now: And here is the system fully rebuilt and ready to rock (as much as as celeron 525 can :

Nice work. I did something similar but reversed the direction of the PSU fan and ducted the fan through to the front because i didn't want to route the power cable through to the back of the psu casing. The duct is only around 2" long.
