buy some riveting pliers, costs next to nothing and fixing the plexi looks way more slick than those rubber molds the kits use...

OK. thank you for the help. really. I mean it man thank you, I never really liked they molding anyways. but hey dude. once I buy the pliers will the rest of the prcess of placing the window on the side panel be self-explanitory or should I know somthing before doing this. I don't want to screw up my case man.

CowGuy27? That sounds like a bad chat name!
Welcome to Pro/Cooling! The rubber is needed to finish the steel edge nicely. Actually, it's a quick and dirty fix, because making a nice finished steel edge takes time. The rivet idea is kinda neat. It's probably best to practice some, to get the hang of it, and see what the result is. There will be rivets all around the window. Alternatively, if you do take the time to finish the steel edge nicely, you could simply use a silicone glue (Goop) to stick the window to the inside of the case panel. Let us know how it turns out (and we want pics!) |

the riveting is real self-explanatory. when u r holding the steel of sidepanel against your future plexi window, u don't even need to press it that hard; once u start pumping those pliers, the rivet will start pulling both pieces together. so thats a no-brainer.
what u really really really need to pay attention to: it has been said in nearly every howto. measure twice, cut once. i have sinned against those priciples on my last case; and u cannot uncut. when working with a dremel, take your time, once u start to get tired of cutting, lay the work aside, don't go rushing it or you WILL screw up. one moment of sloppyness and u can start planning on repainting the whole case. when u dremmeled everything out as needed; take some sanding wheels and SLOWLY smooth out the edges, one slipup, and again u will have big scratches. don't smoke weed when casemodding or working on hardware; it will cost u money ( u could do some silicone on the edges as ben states, but if u take care of the edges with the sanding bits from the dremel, it might not even be necessary, it is more a way of consealing small errors (not like the moldings that are for big errors). i will sum up; 1)measure it out well, more than once. 2)take your time |

Actually, I meant that silicone glue could be used to mount the plexy. It would be a rivetless solution.
If it helps to trim the hole, all the best. |

details from the corner of my window. i feel it doesn't need any silicone.
edit: for scaling purposes, the rivets are exactly 11.7mm appart. |

oi, u dissin maah work ???
naah, i understand, ;-) i c those same wobly edges. but i thk with a dremel it would be hard doing it anymore precise. but the image on screen is twice larger than irl (thats why i mentioned the scaling in an edit, i noticed too), so it is normal that it doesn't look as sharp as in reality. |
