first WC setup singel loop or parallel or other ?
mainboard :asus striker2 extreme
GPU : leadtek nvidia 9800GX2 CPU : intel dual core E8600 cooling stuff : mainboard:nvidia 790 sli cooling kit (north/south + voltageregulator) CPU : Alphacool NexXxoS X2 Plus Highflow GPU : Aquacomputer aquagraFX 9800GX2 radiator : Black ICE Radiator GT Xtreme 480 (+4 SilenX iXtrema Pro 14dBa ( 120x120x25mm )) pump : Innovatek HPPS Plus - 12V Pump so that's gonna be 5 coolingblocks; question is...is it ok to put them all in a single loop or maybe put the north/south in a parallel loop and the rest single loop ? i was thinking of this kind of loop : radiator ---> pump---> CPU-->north--->south-->voltage reg--->GPU now im not gonna do some insane overclocking stuff;it's more to get a quiet setup :-) i have been sniffing around and some say parallel, others say it doesn't matter. i for one don't think it matters. and second...im reading more and more and starting to think that maybe my pump isn't strong enough for this setup. this is my first WC setup so any comment or help is appreciated :-) greetz, davy Last edited by skyrookie; 09-19-2008 at 08:13 AM. |

Re: first WC setup singel loop or parallel or other ?
Well you might be able to do it but with a single 120mm radiator, five blocks and one pump it might be a little hot. I'd either do CPU and vregs in one 120 loop and then the rest in another 120 loop (total two pumps, two rads, two total loops) or add another radiator or bigger radiator with a strong pump or another of the same pump (I don't know the pump you have or how strong it is).
Welcome to ProCooling! Sorry for the late reply.

ah, i think you misread his post ben, he said he has a 480
which should be enough the pump is another story - i'm not familiar with the Innovatek HPPS Plus - 12V Pump, anyone else know? j |

Re: first WC setup singel loop or parallel or other ?
I didn't think of the 480 as 4x120 and thought the fan dimension was the radiator dimension

Re: first WC setup singel loop or parallel or other ?
little update :
so after long waiting the "Innovatek 790i (SLI) Mainboard waterblock Kit" didn't fit the strikerII extreme (although the shop said it did) (vreg cooling doesn't fit cause there is an extra 12v plug for the mainboard located) anyway i have installed the original cooling system off the mainboard again. so setup now is : pump---> CPU ---> GPU --> MB cooling system ---> radiator i have put in a flow meter, but haven't been able to take reading at this moment ill keep it updated PS : maybe dumb question...but what do you mean by OP ?? still not yet familiar with all the words :-) greetz, davy |

OP means original poster I believe. The author of the first post in the thread.
