Acrylic cube
I think I'm ready to start designing/making my gamer box from the ground up. I currently have an AMD system in a full tower case with watercooling setup. I'll be adding a peltier later this week, but I've found that even with a full tower, it is pretty cramped in there. There is still open space, but not where I need it.
My idea is for a 18" sq cube made out of uv reactive acrylic. Tentatively, I'm planning on mounting the motherboard on the bottom of the case on the left side. Most of the right side wall will be a radiator large enough to mount 2 or 4 120 MM fans on. The drives (dvd/hd) will be on the front wall, left hand side. Resivour will probably also be on the front wall to the right of the drive bays. The areas I'm looking for help in are: 1. moderately inexpensive motherboard suggestions for AMD64 CPUs that are overclockable and look to be able to handle likely future AMD64 chips. 2. Dimensions and locations for mounting screws for motherboards so I can have the acrylic laser cut. 3. Any other suggestions that may be helpful. Thanks everybody, and I'll make sure to take plenty of photos to document this project. |
