5V Peltiers...
Everyone is always using 12v pelts... Well, we all run out of amps on the 12v line after not too long. I'll soon be buying 3 pelts that will do between 60 and 70 watts on the 5v line :-). That's for my water chiller...

Also those pelts will eat the SAME ratio of power off the 5v Run as it would off a 12v run, the 5v will have MUCH higher amp requirements

True that is not...
I spoke to the guy from TEDIST today on the phone... The pelt i'm looking at has the following specs... VMAX = 8.9v IMAX = 16.1A QMAX = 87W Anyhow, the guys from TEDIST said that on a 5v line, this particular TEC would take anywhere from 12 - 14 amps of current and run anywhere from 60 - 70 watts . In other words, my chiller would be from 180 - 210 watts... That's a minimum of 36 amps to a max of 42... My psu can put out 44 amps on the 5v line, but to be safe, i'll put the third one on my other psu... Its all good |
