What can I do with out dated, never used, water cooling gear?
I've a DD 6800 GPU waterblock that used to be $130 - never used. I also have a DD Black Ice Micro II radiator that used to be $80 - never used (also some random tubing and parts). What can I do with these deprecated parts that are still useful in elemental makeup and cooling ability? Thanks.

Being many modern CPU's are actually lower power than before the radiator could still be useful for cooling.
As for the water block it was never a good idea in my opinion to buy one specific to a certain card. It becomes a paper weight after that model of card is done. I don't know if it is worth it's weight in recycled copper. Maybe search around and see if any of the modern Nvidia cards have the same profile and mounting and try and sell it. I doubt it but you never know. Other than that I dunno. |

Re: What can I do with out dated, never used, water cooling gear?
I had a hard time selling my DD Black Ice 120mm RADs by themselves with each to be $10-$15 less than current DD prices. Really no takers could be found. I ended up getting a parted out WCing system for free recently. The fan and pump were still in good shape. So, making a WCing combo FS thread and letting it all go for $40, I had over a dozen PMs in the first day.
This brings to mind that people do not want to piece meal their entire loop, but rather wanting to obtain much of the components in one good deal. eBay is so swamped with stuff now that I do not even bother with it anymore. Forum FS threads tend to be better suited to the right audience. |
