Powering TEC, too thin wrires?
When I make test with diferentet intesity PSU, I must use wires with a good section (1.5 mm2 o more), but I have several TEC's (70w, 80w, 156w, 172w) and his wires has very little seccion.
How this wires can support 11 Amp?? Is any especial kind o wire? What kind of wire? Where I can finf it? Thanks. |

All I know is that wires going to pelts get DAMN hot for me.

Exactly, this what I think. When I test my PSU on lab, I use 1.5 mm2 section write (much more than TEC use) and I get a lot of heat on wires only with 9 amp, I supuse that with 11 Amp (172 W tec) the wire can burn.

if the wires are hot to the touch you should consider using heavier gauge wires As for the wires to the TEC itself (those that come already attached), I would assume they're good enough or it wouldn't sell with them.

i´m no electonic expert.. but if the wiers are hot, there is energy being converted into heat in the wiers, not the peltier, witch is bad.
i don´t think it has anny noticable effect on cooling, but i just dont like to waste enery on heating wiers.. so use larger cabels if you´rs are hot. |

Every pelt I have used has heated up the wires a lot. I dont know why they dont start using a heavier gauge wire for them

Cost of course, why put on heavy gauge wires when the current wires are still short of ignition point... ;P
