How about this pump????
http://www.thehiddenreef.com/webpage...arium_pump.htm
And here it is for under $100. http://www.aquatictech.com/pumps.html Anyone try one of these? I am developing a test bed and want a good pump but want to keep it under $150.00. Quote:

From what I've read in aquarium forums, these pumps run as hot as they come. I've seen a lot of complaints about the large amount of heat dumped into the water. Quiet tho, apparently.
In contrast, a pump like the Hydrothruster (disc?) with an isolated impeller assembly adds no motor heat into the water. The pump I just got is the Custom Sealife Velocity T3, very high head capacity. Noise less than 30dBA. I got it in barely-used condition for $120. I am going to start testing it as soon as I get my current WC system disassembled. I'll post some results here (subjective). |

I just bought a Lifeguard Quiet one. I haven't had a chance to test it out yet though so I don't know about the heat issue, but I got a heck of a good deal on it so... It is an 87w pump which is a little higher then I like.

I am not to worried about the heat issue. I will have some kind of controlled water temp system. This will be for a test bed and not an actual computer so it shouldn't matter to much.

Yeah. The heat issue wont really effect me either as I'll be running this through a Lytron 6320 rad.
