MCP600 at 7v?
Can you run this pump at 7v instead of 12v? would it do any damage to the pump?

No. The pump won't run at anything much below 10v. At 7v it will pump nothing.

Quiet????
I'ts actually the noisiest piece of my system, even when dampened with a foam base. anyway, I'm a lot less tolerant to noise than most people. |

Its fairly silent in my setup. Only thing I can hear is (occassionally) the vibration, which is more felt than heard.

I think noise is different for many people. But in comparison to an Eheim 1048 or 1046, the MCP600 is quite loud.

The only pump I've run into that's quieter than the 1046 is the HPPS (essentially a 12VDC 1046 with larger diameter pump rotor - so higher pressures than the 1046 - maybe even higher than the 1048, but I haven't found any trustworthy test figures...)
