*some* People here are rude and inconsiderate. :shrug:

My WC project is finally done and with some great results! After lots of consideration, I decided to skip the chipset waterblock (for now) and use the swiftech NB cooler. I took off the fan cause the damn thing was so loud!

I also decided to go with the mobile athlon XP 2600 and sell my Tbird to a friend. Right now she is chugging along at 2.75Ghz @ 15 X 183Mhz @1.72V. Temps are 35 idle and 38 load. I would really love to push it harder, but i dont think my 420W P/S and XMS 2700LL can keep up! And after all this, I certainly dont have another $300 to invest in those two items! (Maybe my P/S wouldn't be so sad if i didnt have 4 hard drives, 4 fans, 2 pumps, and high voltages draining it!)

My AIW 9700 pro Now overclocks to 400/350 without artifacts. I was kinda hoping for more performance there, but i don't know what else to do... VMODS?

Here is a list of what I installed:
DD TDX
Cyclone Fusion HL
2 x CSP pumps in parallel
Supra heater core w/ custom shroud & two adjustable 92mm fans.
Swiftech NB cooler.
OCZ ramsinks on MOSFETS
P/S sleeving and UV mods

I also gutted a card reader and mounted it in a 3.5" bay instead of the floppy

Thank you to those who replied with nice comments.

Wondering why you chose to run the pumps in parallel and not series? Parallel is not doing anything for you, might as well run 1 pump. I would also ditch the res, but that is just me.

Yeah fix those pumps. You're just heating the water as it is now . . .

What you said is just silly!

I have excellent flow and mt temps are great. Parallel not only adds redundancy, but also increases flow. especially when used like i did by forcing two 3/8" tubes into a single 1/2"

It's must better to run the pumps in serial. That way, their pressure ratings add to one another and overcomes more restriction, therefore increasing flow through your loop.

As it is now, the pumps are being starved at the inlet and restricted at the outlet.

increases flow, yes

adds redundancy? not as much as you're expecting, water will flow backwards through the broken pump

look, you come to procooling, don't reject what we say with no basis....use facts, or blindly believe

Didn't say anything about that.

No it doesn't, soon as one pump dies, you have a short circuit and flow cuts through the dead pump.

but also increases flow.
Marginally if at all. You have the pumps fighting each other.

Check your math. You're chokeing the inlet with 3/8 tube.

I would think series adds alot more redundancy than parallel
parallel only increases flow, without one in pressure
looking at your system, a realtively high back pressure one, more pressure as opposed to flow seems ideal
please go do a read up

Its strange how people come here asking for critique, then get offended when people critique them???

You've got a kink in the second pumps outlet, too.

Gazorp, You asked for advices and You got them. Quite good ones as well, if You ask me.
OK, it´s no fun to tear down a fully functional rig because of an advice You don´t believe in, but: Try it.
There will be one of two outcomes:
1. Your temps will go up, and then You were right all the time. Wouldn´t hurt, would it?
2. Your temps will go down. Wouldn´t hurt either, right?
Yep, I would definetely straighten out that kink if I were You. Serious flow killer.
regards
Mikael S.

First, That is not a kink in the hose like the picture makes it look. It is just from the boiling the tube to get it to fit over the 1/2" barb.

Second, I had the decision before i built my system to run series or parallel. I chose parallel for many good reasons to accomodate my setup.

Finally, most of you have really shitty attitudes and are being ass holes. There are plenty of *better* forums on the net that don't degrade people with every comment. I came looking for some comments and suggestions, and when the first load of comments comes in and it's nothing more than 15 yr old BS comments like "you're just heating your water" that's totally lame.

You guys can keep your tight ass comments to yourself or keep spewing constant criticism. do whatever,

I WONT BE BACK!

Not a problem to us in the slightest. I doubt that anyone here is under the age of 20, let alone 15...

"Enjoy the pics and chime in with any questions, comments, or advice!"

Exactly what people did? :shrug:

There was nothing insulting until you piped in 'what you're saying is just silly!'... you started the insults?

What he said was true, you wont be pushing much more through a TDX by running in parallel, from what ive heard - they're restrictive blocks, so you need pressure to overcome that, ie series. You are just heating up the water, because you're running them in parallel, getting less performance benefits and adding pump heat.

I know you'll be back to read comments, perhaps you wont post, but you will at least read this. Hell, running in series would probably result in less tubing too.

Its your rig, at the end of the day we couldnt care less what your temps are. I certainly dont care what overclock you get! I doubt anyone else here does either. If you're not willing to take something onboard and give it a try, thats your loss, wether you think we're a 'bunch of arseholes' or not.

Hi all,

I'm very new to watercooling... till now, still reading and looking at other peoples work. I've ordered 2 CSP pumps too, but they're still back-order.

Currently he has his pumps running in parallel, such as...
RES -> PUMP1 ---\
............................ ---> CPU WB -> GPU WB -> RAD -> RES
RES -> PUMP2 ---/

When you guys say, run the pumps in series, does it mean (taking his setup into consideration)...
RES -> PUMP1 -> PUMP2 -> CPU WB -> GPU WB -> RAD ->RES ?

learning newbie here...
thanks guys.

saperboy, as long as you have PUMP1 -> PUMP2 then yes it will be in series.

To the original thread poster: stick around, you will learn something if you learn how to take criticism

I could give you all MHO as to what set him off............ You all gave a lot of good advice and all. The problem I saw, me being new here and all, was the way some of the comments came across. It's one thing to give friendly advice and another to be scarcastic about it. That rubs people the wrong way sometimes. I'm not that kind of person, I spent 20 years in the Army and can take anything anyone puts out and can give back the same. Some people can't. One thing I learned in life is to treat people the way you want to be treated. Even more so if you don't know the person.

Just my view as a noob looking in.

Oh, well, looks like another one bites the dust. I just don't get it? Since when are people so damn sensitive? People need a little thicker skin. I mean, it is just a forum....

Everyone in this world is different and should be treated as such.........IMHO. But this is not a perfect world............... I remember when I was active Army 1st Sgt, I could get a grown man to cry in front of a company. Does that make me a better person, no it doesn't. I learned the hard way, you never know when it'll come back and bite you in your big headed over sized butt.

There are just some people out there that have to be treated in a different way. He!!, he may very well ture out to be one of the nicest people you ever met give the chance. First impressions aren't always the right impression, but they are the longest lasting impression.

actually i think he was the first one to post a 15 year old remark. nikhsub1 and redleader gave good advice/comments about how to fix his system and he just couldnt handle the critique and goes "thats just silly." then makes claims a/b how gureat his temps and flow is. it only got negative after he said that because he came here looking for advice and basically rejected and denied anything anybody said to him. he shoulda been more open to constructive criticism before coming to this forum.

redundancy? just think when one pump dies whats going to push the water through the other half of the tubes. as redleader said it would create a short circuit. redundancy would be in a series where it can still pump thru the same path. just think like stacking two fans on top of each other, the pressure adds up. much like what two pumps would do. and with 3/8" going into 1/2" the flow is being killed b/c the 3/8" is not feeding the 1/2" tubes enough.

the problem is that this forum might not be like other forums. personally i dont post that much, only read because i know that my w/c knowledge is very limited. but this is the only forum i ever read because of the type of people and the type of post on procooling, even if they go way over my head. you have engineers here who post all the time and who debate back and forth based on facts and science. and thats what different about this forum. people like to obey the fundamental rules of science to govern their thoughts on watercooling. over on some, not all, forums you could post a picture of ur system like gazorp and everyone would be in awe w/ the two csp pumps and his thermaltake sensors and forget a/b the flaws in his system. people would kiss your ass and tell ya it smelled like roses. and maybe thats where he came from but over here its not a critique about how nice ur systems look, or how low ur errant temp sensors read, its about how does it really work. thats just my opinion tho.
