so if one were to own a painted heatercore or a Bi style rad, would removing the paint (or getting one without) yield greater performance? Seems to me that the paint could possibly make it difficult for the fin to give the heat off into the air.
any thoughts? |

No. Unless they submerged the radiator in paint and coated it in a really thick layer all the way through the radiator, there wouldnt be a problem. Most of the cooling happens deep within the radiator where the fins are actually pins. Paint does not normally go this deep.
I bet ther is almost no change between a correctly painted rad and an unpainted one.

oh, cool.
yeah i saw a thread where someone experienced a 2-4c drop on unpainted cores...so i figured I'd ask about it over here, I"m sure it'd be rather difficult to get that kind of difference. |
