With the permision of pHaestus I am asking the members of procooling to help out procooling.

Anyone who has a maze4 gpu block, Silverprop Fusion (either model) or any other gpu block that is available through retail channels that they are willing to part with for a short while to let pHaestus test would be greatly appreciated.

I also sent an email out to danger den and to silverprop to ask them if they would be willing to let procooling borrow a block for testing. I am waiting word back on those emails.

So anyone who has one and is willing please post here and let us know.

I have an unused MAZE4 GPU block, and I am not using it. I could lend it to procooling if they could reimburse for shipping. I would be more than happy to help. Just give me the green light.

I'd like to see more reviews from pHaestus too. His method of testing is more useful to me than that of Overclockers.com.

Silverprop emailed me back and told me that ph needs to email them for them to be receptive to actually giving pro cooling a block... i contacted ph about hte matter and hopefully i will ask jermey over at silverprop to send one over

Ahh you know u love us. Derek, Bill said he iwill send u the mcw50 and the pelt versio. But since you have the 50 then there is no need.

I would like to see the polarflo gpu tested as well. I have the ploarflo gpu block that came out before the TT looking one. I would be willing to lend it for testing if polarflo wont lend one.

Delerious, is this block a new or atleast recently new one that is competetive today in terms of performance. I dont mean to be rude, but I dont want to waste dereks time testing old underperforming blocks. The reason that I started this whole thing was to see the top performing blocks (atlest that we think are top performing) from the different companies. And of course to see which one comes out the winner. We (over at xtremesystems and here i think) have had some rather heated debates on which is the best gpu block. as of now it seems to be a dead heat between maze4 the swifty block and the silverprop block.

but if you think the block is up to bar with any of those blocks, heck lets cover all bases (as long as i dont give derek too big of a headache and have him tell me to piss of with this hole thing ;-P

Its about a year old, Came out the same time as the dangerden vga block as well as the swifty one.

Update: Derek is contacting DD and Silverprop to see if they will send him blocks. That way no one has to send them their own blocks.

Hey, no offense taken. I hadn't realized it was alluminum, thanks for pointing that out! Maybe I was just dazzled by the visual beauty of it, not to notice it's composition. It's not installed yet, so no harm done. Perhaps I'll order a Silverprop, hmmm...

Inba, i suggest you do so. if you have a high flow system, after that block you wont.

The euro blocks look cool, but not much else... its a pitty. us americans and the ausies got the idea right. who cares what it looks like, just so long as it gets it icy cold. (cathars blocks are still beautiful though)

Delerious.. polarflow... no offense to whomever uses them, but they are the equivalent of a set of plastic chrome rims for your car. they may look pretty but they dont do much.

but even still I will contact polarflow and see if i cant get a block for derek for them.

sofar:
both swifty blocks
maze 4 (either from DD or moosturd)
silverprop fusion (hopefully anyway. pending on jermey over at silverprop being friendly do derek)

working on:
Polarflow

anyone else got any ideas as to some good blocks?

mine doesnt look pretty at all so are u saying its ugly and performs poorly. Either way it keeps the back of my overclocked 9800 pro cool to the touch.

no no no .. im saying that some of the best performing blocks dont look all that pretty. no flasy stuff on them or anything. for instnace the swifty mcp6000. that block is far from a looker but its one of the best performing blocks around....

the euro blocks all look good, but generaly perform sub par compared to the american and ausie blocks.

UPDATE: I contacted polarflow and told them about the review that im organizing. hoepfully then send derek a block.

well mines a black cube with a copper base and two barbs sticking out of, i dont know if they could make it plainer, thats probably why they came out with the 'BLING' version that matches the TT

Ah, your magic x-ray eye has penetrated the block, and you can tell it is very flow restrictive and a poor performer.

3/8inch, cools memory. Enough said. it has a long pathway inside the block, just like the invotek block. its a clone. the invotek is highly restictive (compared to say a silverprop or maze4. That was my point. And as far as my point on performance... name one of those types of blocks (ones similar in design like the invotek) that are good performers. they dont exist and its for a reason. they gave themselves design limitations so that the block cannot be thick and they stuck with that. not very helfpul for designing waterblock.

See, heres the thing (after reading that nv6800 install thread too, what a waste of time, glad i skimmed it rather than reading it fully) - around here, assumptions based on your 'E'-go dont get you far, and refusing to listen (and spouting crap) gets you shunned, and flamed.

lol. my assumption on the performance of that block was not ego, but from reading and learning alot about water blocks in general and seeing what works and what doesnt. and those invotek like blocks just dont work.

Is it not the point of these tests to move beyond the conjecture and theory and get some real world performance information?
I say include it, just so that future comparisons between the different types of block can be based on the cold hard numbers.
