Ok, I need a little help on this one. So far, I believe I have my water-cooling setup all planned out. My goal here is to maybe overclock a bit, but mainly to achieve a quiet system. What radiator would be a better choice for coupling with Nexus 120mm fans. So far my two choices are a 2-342 heater core and a Black Ice Pro II. Just in case you are not familiar with these. The 2-342 is a single pass with a 9.5*6.125*2" core, where the BIP is a double pass with a 9.44*5.9*98" core. Both accommodate 120mm fans. Will the single pass design make up for the added thickness of the 2-342 when used with a low cfm fan? Here are my choices for the other components in the loop if it helps...
CPU Block: G5 if I get the anticipated email from Cathar when the time comes. MCP6000-A if I don't make the cut. Pump: Liang DDC (also open to 2x1048 in series if it's quieter) Tubing: 3/8 if I go with the DDC, which I'm leaning towards, 1/2 otherwise. Filling: T-Line Please give me a little advice as to what will perform best given my goals and planned components. Also feel free to poke holes in any component choice since they are by no means set in stone. |

Go with the BIP2....got it, love it, better performance/noise ratio than the heater core.
