Default Cooling Shmooling check this out.

Hehe, I just got a new CPU and thought I would share. I guess my cooling helps eh? And this is not even pushing the CPU yet, I have FAH and p95 running for 3 hours now, think it is quite stable. I also installed my 2 new 120.3 shrouds, now my case is beastlier than ever. 5Ghz on water? Maybe

With that many fans, I think you ought to consider using a blower, to lower the noise, no?

Nice results! Are you going to try to hit 5 GHz?

No room for a blower... fans are at 7v, I don't mind I am not a quiet freak and yes, 5Ghz is my goal but am quite happy with 4.5Ghz stable ATM
And to keep this semi watercooling related, here are some shroud pics:

Hey nikhsub1, is that UFO silver or black?

I'm about to order one and those shots look great. Though I'm not sure what color to get. I plan on building a watercooled SLI machine in a UFO, but since this is my first custom, I'm trying to look around, get some ideas, and get it off the ground.

Does anyone think its safe to go the watercooling route given its my first custom machine?

And if so, what watercooled parts should I get? Looks like nikhsub1's system has about the best around but would that work for SLI....

Err, does it LOOK silver? It is black. Sure it is safe if you take your time and plan things out and dont rush or force anything! For SLI you have the all card blocks like the DD-NV68 or you could do 2 low profile Maze 4's (acetal top!) and use ram sinks. Parts? What is the budget?

With graduation here in a few more days, that I turn in El POS for a real machine.
I'm basically going right under top of the line here:

Case - UFO (Silver or Black, not sure but leaning black now)

PSU - either the OCZ OCZ520ADJ ATX 520W Power Supply 115/230 V TUV, UL, CSA, CE, CB, FCC - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104152
or maybe the 600W equivalent:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104153
OR the PC P&C 510 SLI:
http://www.pcpowercooling.com/produc...hp?show=T51SLI

Mobo - DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136157

Processor - AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 1MB 90nm Rev. E (ADA3700DAA5BN) (939)
http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merch...ory_Code=AMD64

Video - Two 6800GTs
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130215

RAM - 1 GB DDR (2 pcs 512) PC-4000 (500) OCZ Dual Channel GoldVX (OCZ5001024ELDCGEVX-K)
http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merch...Unbuffered_OCZ

HDD - Two Raptors running Raid 0

Sound - CREATIVE Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS GAMER Limited Edition 70SB035000013 8 (7.1) Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Card - Retail ... I've heard I dont need the gamer edition, but It was about the first thing I saw... I just want the best sound I can get since I'm a Music enthusiast I want my music crystal clear running out of 5.1 and later 7.1 systems
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829102171

Monitor - HYUNDAI L90D+ Silver 19" 8ms LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 700:1 Built in Speakers 0.294mm Pixel Pitch - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824179014

Cooling - Gonna go with some water cooling. Still reading on exactly what I should get for this and how I'm going to go about doing it. Which is why I'm here now...

So thats what I'm looking to work with, its no small budget so I'm trying to set up the best parts for watercooling (I mean, why not just go all out?). The only problem is I'm new to this sort of thing, I'm looking to see what parts I need...

Get different memory. The AMD64 really works better with TCCD memory, and I don't think the OCZ Gold VX uses TCCD chips. I made the mistake of not getting TCCD ram. Don't get me wrong, it'll probably work great, but overclocking will be limited.

I'm going to use two power supplies in my UFO (should be delivered sometime next week). One will supply the motherboard and video card, and the other will power everything else in the case.

I'm watercooling now, but I'm going to split the GPU into it's own loop since I'll have the room for a 2nd rad and pump (BIX and D4).

If you get one GOOD PSU, you wont need 2... PCP&C 510 comes to mind.

Why put the two largest power draws on the same PSU?

I already have one (a 3 year-old 485w thermaltake), and bought another one (520w modstream). I figure, why not use an almost perfectly good psu along with the new one?

I think HammerSandwich is suggesting that you put the motherboard on one PSU and the video card on the other, then divide the remaining devices between them. That way the two largest power draws (the mobo/cpu and the vid card) are on separate PSUs.

Ahhh, well, the simple answer is that the m/b and the video should not overpower a 520w PSU (I mean afterall, the graphics card isn't made by nVidia). Separating the m/b and gpu seemed the logical thing to do.

Asking me why I'm not doing it a certain way doesn't convince me I should do it any other way. Now, if he were to provide a reason, that would be different.

What is the best TCCD memory I can get then?

Given the parts in the comp I'll be sporting what would the best option be...

this is awesome m8!,
what mems are you using btw?
are those fans on the 120.3 any silent at all? ( i want a true answer on that :P)

also, where did you bought that DFI from? cause my next upgrade wil be a 640 with either AS8 Abit or that DFI and haven't found the DFI anywhere here in UK.

Cheers, and good luck with 5Ghz!, that would be a record on water!

I believe there's some PC4400 TCCD available form Corsair Timings are a bit looser than PC3200, but I supposed that's to be expected. Bleeding Edge posted a review of their 1gb (2x512) kit.

Even better, they tested it on the same motherboard you're planning on getting.
