Ehiem's are good pumps but expensive. I have never done any water cooling but I have fishtanks and I use maxi jets. They don't add a lot of heat to the water and are reliable. You can even run them outside of the water so you don't have to worry about them adding heat.

Mags are good too, but I have no personal experience with them. Don't use Rio's they are cheap and you can get big ones, but they don't last long.
