mod laptop LCD to use w/ vid card?

there was a further in depth article at chicks hardware, the guy said he used a analog to digital converter but i couldn't find out any more

I'm very intrested, i may use a 9" lappy screen for my future mp3 box

Maybe a video card with DVI like the Hercules Geforeces (DDR-DVI, Ultra, etc) would work for it.
