Default Asus A7v core voltage: auto vs user defined

I'm running a 1.2 tbird at 12.5x104...which is 12.5x108 or so with cpuid.
When i set the voltage for auto...it reads 1.81V in sisoft sandra. When i set the voltage to manual and set it to 1.85...my cpu won't boot.
Is there a reason for this? I thought that the higher you went in voltage, the faster speed you could achieve.

Default

u can have better results with lower voltages with high-end amd's..

the temp is then more critical than the voltage..

ur chip is just too hot..
