cooling the northbridge
i bought a blue orb to cool the northbridge of my kt7a-raid board...does the southbridge and/or hpt chipsets get too hot also? or not enough to worry about?

I had the same question, so I put my finger on the osuthbridge one time. It was a little hot, so I bought a small heatsink to put on it

I have a blue orb on the northbridge but the heat from my wbk38 or from my vid card seems to be heating up the blorb which is warm to the touch even with fan on. I had to saw off a couple fins to make room for the wbk and nothing is touching.

Not really an issue with decent case cooling.
However the P4 mobo chipsets really can benefit from good cooling. |
