Warning about overclock-watercool.com

Following the advise of my friend I am posting a warning about the website www.overclock-watercool.com . I placed an order with them on Nov 13 and payed through paypal. The payment was confirmed, and I waited patiently for my order(the site says it takes from 5-20 days). Now here it is Jan 1 and there is still no sign of my order( a water pump combo to complete my watercooling system). I have gotten no response from the several e-mails I sent, and am now of the opinion that the site is just a fraud. So to save yourselves some money and aggrivation, DON'T order anything from this site. If anyone might actually know the person running the site I would appreciate any help I can get so I don't have to use the, gulp, legal system to obtain either my money or my product.
Ya'll have a great New Year.

chip is very busy, and I know he does go to lengths to test every product that walks out his door.

Just send a high priorty email to chip everyday, he will sort it out eventually

He may be very busy but he is a lousy businessman, I don't know about anyone else but if I tell someone i'll do something in a certain time frame it gets done, so far i have no complaints with my business with these types of problems. And now that i have started looking in these forums i see that i should never have done any business with this sorry excuse for a business!(as it seems to happen all the time) How he stays in any kind of business without being sued all the time is a mystery, however it will be coming to that if he doesn't get off his a@$ and start delivering the products he sells. My recommendation for him would be to find a new line of work that he is more suited to I hear mcdonalds is hiring right now.

I had my own horror story with Chip that I won't get into right now.

We shouldn't have to rely on a private forum to get cell phone numbers for a business contact. The phone numbers on his site have been disconnected for over 6 months. And I know it is not that the site has been neglected. He is constantly coming out with new products. If this were a local business he would be in more trouble. Being busy is not an excuse. It means you need to hire more help, or just get out of the business.

I work in the customer service field, and have no idea how his business prospers. I see now on his site that he is getting out of the retail market. Yeah!!!!!! No more false promises or unanswered e-mails. Yet i tried to e-mail one of his new retailers over a month ago and have yet to get a response. More of the same.

Well, looks like I need to find another place to get my res/pump from then.

Thanks for the heads up. I really like some of his stuff too. Any recommendations for a nice, somewhat low profile, quiet, yet powerful enough pump? I only need to cool my T-bird 1100, and nothing else.

Oh, and looks do count. I'm pimping out my machine and I dont want to put anything ugly in it. I have a large window in the side panel that exposes the inside.

Thanks gang

If looks matter you are going to pay for it so you just aswell get the ehime(sp?). That thing looks pretty sharp and runs great. But at $55+ it is spendy.

Thanks. I will check them out.

Now, if only I can get the k 4.1 waterblock from one of the German sites, I'd be set

Chip does catch a lot of flack. And I won't say the service hasn't been perfect for all. However, I did get my BI Extreme just like I was supposed to. And in a timely matter also. Lastly Chip has answered any question that I have emailed him.

Busy or not. If Chip can't deliver people's stuff in a timely fashion, Chip needs to find a new line of work.

ive had nothing but great experiences from chip. On the site if you see that "Leave a Message, Powered by Live Person" off to the right of the site, i always send my emails through that, and i get a response almost the next day, if you goto the "contacts" page and email him using another email address i had failure in contacting him , i would reccomend using the "leave a msg" feature.

I have tried to submit an order to that German site listed above by Assassin. I like the block that Brad pointed out as well. I'm not sure what the performance is like on it, but I'm pretty sure it is on par with the other well made blocks.

I'm not sure how to handle the euro currency issue and the lack of credit card ordering option, so I used the google translator to translate my request to German and have them email me with instruction for payment.

I guess I will wait and see how it goes.

Well, I got an order confirmation back in German. The google translation came back a little funny, but this was just an order confirmation with the details. I have no clue how I'm going to handle a COD for this.

Will I ever see this wonderful little hunk of copper? hmmmm... I would hope so. I think it would be much easier to make a German friend pay them the money and ask them to send me one.

Strangely enough, they will not ship it here. Here is the reply I got

first of all I have to say you, that I'm very sorry, but we are not able
to deliver the USA. Aqua-Computer is only delivering Europe. We are
still searching for a distributor.
The transfer for only one waterblock would be much to expensive.

Sorry,

Stephan Wille

p.s.: If we find a distributor, we will inform you.

Is there anyone who read this forum who is in Germany that can get me a block if I pay them ? I don't think I will be getting too far otherwise. I refuse to use another block !!!!

why not tell them you will pay for shipping?

or maybe you can find someone in germany, or another european country who will send it on to you.

I was going to try that even though I figured they would have suggested the same thing.

I just thought it might be easier to ask someone who is already out there to get one for me and I can pay them.
