I was wondering what you guys think about this waterblock. It can take 2 pelts in serie. Does it make sense at all? What do you think about stacking pelts in general?

Looks quite well made, pity the concept is flawed. Peltier stacking doesn't work well - the power involved in watercooling means you need far too much power on the top layer of the stack. You almost always get better results with a single large peltier. The only exception I can think of is with a p3 or similar low power chip.

the only way that would work is if you had a 220w pelt on the top, and a 72w or 80w pelt in the middle, then a 30w cpu at the bottom

Thanks for your opinions. I'm an avid overclocker but I'm new to the peltier kind of thing, yet I'm very interested and take all the information for granted.
My cpu will be putting out around 90-100W if I'm right about that, so either way this setup would not serve me very well then I guess. Now for a dual-peltier setup side by side, like maybe with a maze 2-2, how will that affect cooling compared to a single pelt?

Two side by side is about twice as effective as a single peltier.

a 100w cpu will mean your pelt options are limited to a 220w, or dual 120w, dual 156w, dual 172w, dual 220w.
of course you will need a 15v @ 50a power supply for the dual 220w's, which is hard to come by, which is why I wouldn't recommend you go for anything that large.

I wouldn't go for dual 220W, but I was thinking of maybe dual 156W or so. I've found a great switchting psu already, it can be adjusted from 0-15V and puts out clean and continous 40A.
Ok thanks guys ![]()

Sure. Now this is a company that I found in the country I live, Switzerland. So you won't be able to order there, but this is a psu that you might find elsewhere.
http://www.elv.ch/Shopping/ArtikelDe...T%2DNE&Stufe=2 A pic of it: ![]() It's not even that expensive. About 150$.

is Switzerland AC power in the 220v - 240v range, or is it in the 110 - 120v range?
I'm asking this cause in NZ we are 240v, and one of those looks quite nice....

That's correct. This unit runs at 230V. Maybe you do a search on sps 9400 or something, it should be available everywhere. The radio transmission guys use this kind of power supplies I think.
