I guess my watercooling rig is not as good as I thought...
![]() I replaced my Duron at 948/1.8v with a T-Bird 1.4 at stock voltage, and at idle I'm getting temps in the low 40's celcius. At 100% load (doing SETI@Home) it hits 52C!! ![]() ![]() I am going to replace the old-school OCWC polyblock with a DD Maze2, and I have another Magdrive 2 pump for the new case, but I'm stuck on radiator choice... I know the heatercore rads cool best, but I don't really want to give up that much case real-estate in my SX830. I like the look of Black Ice rads because they are small enough to tuck up under the hard drive bay, and still get my pump in the front of the case, leaving the mobo unobstructed. But is the BI Extreme really worth the extra $$$ than the original BI?? |

it mightn't be that bad.
what sort of board do you have? Asus and Gigabyte are known to read very high temperatures. It might just be your mounting or thermal paste use that is bad, and is affecting temps. That would be the first things I would look at, before spending any more money
