As long as you cool the water the pump is good for maybe a decade or so...

yup. its actually GOOD to ALWAYS leave the pump on. the more you start and stop the pump, the more wear you put on it. These things are fish pumps. A fish tank is always being pumped. The reason they last forever is because they are meant to just pump forever, not on and off constantly.

no need to turn off your pump, infact turning it on and off everytime you start your rig will greatly shorten it's lifespan.

thats the beauty of an Eheim, once it is the air ia properly bled and assuming you have the pump isolated from vibrating the case Eheims are damn near totally silent. With my 1250 I literally have to get my ear within about a foot to hear it.

Weeduser420, your comp doesn't need to be on with all it's fans to have the pump on, you can turn the comp off and leave the pump on

You really don't need a digidoc to do that... Acutally, when you watercool, the number of fans can very often be reduced to only some casefans, and of course the northbridge and gpu uf neccessary..

Default They last at least this long

Well, I have two on my aquariums that have been running for 9 years non-stop except for quarterly cleanings and the rare power outage due to storms

I wish I could find a good pump locally. Petsmart and HomeDepot just sell submersible pumps.

petsmart does sell the Danner Supreme MAG-DRIVE pumps, and models 2, 3, 5, 7 and 12 do have in line capability. you can also order them from their website if your local petsmart doesnt have them in stock.

Default One of my long time sources

You can get almost any pump here (look in the fish supplies) at decent prices.
