Default How true is this??

thats complete bs. water wetter actually increases the thermal properties of water, and even if it didn't, it's worth putting some in to protect your blocks

hmm... not wanting to mention any names... but i guess many here knows where the statement come from.... they even mention about 'additive like water wetter voiding warrenty to their product'...

that is a dumb statement; you do need things to prevent corrosion and biological growths. and its not like you need TONS of additives to prevent those things from happening, so i doubt the water's heat transfer rate will be significantly affected.
