Default Best radiator?

Black Ice Xtreme rev. 2 with 1/2" fittings or there are some better?

I would say that, or a 1978 Chevy Caprice Heater Core.

I would say the best rad is the one that fits in your case BIE is nice and small and works well. Alot of people use car HE's which work excellent, but are big...depends on what your needs are. Unless your case is the size of a frig, then i would tell ya to get a front mounted car radiator

all depends on what u want.....silent system (aka passive cooled) would be a big azz radiator or one u mount outside ur case.....small case would probably be best with a bix.....a large case would probably be best fitted with a large heatercore, with some fans @ 7v.....those are just my choices......

for it's size the BIX is the best, but a Caprice heatercore is among the best overall

The only thing bad about the BIX is the price. Cools as well if not slightly better than a 6 x 6 heater core. Great tube design.

chevy chevette heatercore fits in about any case, these perform even better than a BIX from my experience.

but the bix is easier to mount

Is the 6 x 6 core a chevette heater core? Thats the one I started with. I actually got slightly better temps with the BIX but it could have been due to the way it was mounted in the first case.

The first case I water cooled with, the radiator was mounted horizontally at the top of case while the fan was vertical on the back of the case. An aluminum panel seperated it from the rest of the case so it drew ambient air in.

i wonder how that thing compares to an Econoline core (the long one ECU has i believe...or was it jim? ;p )
some-1 needs to do a BIX vs 'core shootout!

My Ford van heater core has 5/8" barbs in both positions and is the same size as the Chevy Caprice, but I now recommend the Chevy as Webmasta33 stated, to SAVE $$$$!

Jim its about 61/8 by 71/2 that the total size...and it fits perfect in my antec 1030b case. I bought mine at the local Napa for 25.00..but u have to mod the inlet and outlet

5/8 inlet
1/2 out

the fan shroud and mounting is the big pain

er...i do believe it has a 3/4" barb, and a 5/8" barb (thats what heatercore4u listed anyways). am i wrong, or did you goof??
as for cost, i asked my local Autozone and they quoted me $26 special order. it was on their site for like $18 or something. *shrug* i dunno what other stores sell it for. id say $25 or less...anything more and youre paying too much.

That's right on the sizes C D. I sent that fellow Adrian in Singapore a couple of Chevy Caprice heater cores a couple of weeks ago now. They were listed for $18 on the web but are 24.99 in the store? I dunno

Ablaze is his handle here on the Proforum.

Don't even try to mount it in a coolermast case I have one, and I cannot get it to fit anywhere.... Unless I cut out ALL the 3.5" bay slots.

But the BiX works wonders....

BTW, whoever posted that pic of what they thought was a Black Ice Xtreme... they posted a pic of the Black Ice II... IE: it's like 2 Black Ice Primes stuck on top of eachother.

its not a Bix,
Its an OCPC product,
the Bix Extreme has to fight against a Deep unit.
